International College Hosts 2026 GITM Conference Bringing Together Asia-Pacific Scholars to Bridge Research and Real-World Practice

The International College of Ming Chuan University proudly hosted the 2026 International Conference on Global Innovation, Technology and Management (GITM), bringing together scholars and industry professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region to explore key transformations shaping the global business landscape.

The conference features approximately 45 accepted papers presented across nine parallel sessions in five rooms, along with two keynote speeches. Contributors represent institutions from Taiwan and overseas, including participants from Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as multiple Taiwanese universities. In total, the program brings together voices from around a dozen institutions across four countries, reflecting a strong spirit of international collaboration.

This year’s conference welcomes three distinguished international guests: keynote speakers Dr. Chulmo Koo (Kyung Hee University, South Korea) and Dr. Xin-Jean Lim (Sun Yat-sen University / Universiti Putra Malaysia), as well as guest discussant Dr. Amy Wong (Vice Dean, Singapore University of Social Sciences). In addition, several Taiwan-based discussants from both academia and industry contribute to enriching discussions and strengthening the link between research and practice.

The conference program focuses on major forces reshaping the Asia-Pacific business environment, including AI-driven disruption, demographic transitions in East Asia, the restructuring of global trade under evolving U.S. policies, and environmental sustainability challenges. Papers presented address a wide range of topics such as cross-border workforce dynamics, trade policy, AI integration, media and cultural production, sustainability and green innovation, as well as design and fashion innovation.

A defining feature of GITM is its strong applied orientation. The International College emphasizes the importance of connecting academic research with real-world practice, particularly as most of its students pursue careers in business rather than academia. The conference serves as a platform to foster meaningful dialogue between scholars and practitioners and to highlight research with practical impact.

In addition, GITM is intentionally designed as a small and intimate conference. The organizers aim to create a friendly and collegial atmosphere in which every presenter—especially junior scholars and first-time international participants—feels that their work is valued and receives constructive feedback in a supportive environment.

One of the highlights of the conference is the keynote speech by Dr. Chulmo Koo, titled “Three Ages of Hospitality Reflection: Origins, Contemporary, and Future.” Dr. Koo is a leading authority in smart tourism and serves as a Fellow Professor at the College of Hotel & Tourism Management, Kyung Hee University. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Smart Tourism, Asia Chapter Chair of the International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT), and a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (Top 1%, 2025).

Through hosting GITM 2026, the International College of Ming Chuan University continues to strengthen international academic collaboration and promote impactful, practice-oriented research that contributes to innovation and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
